Ever thought about writing and publishing a book? Here are two things that can definitely help you.
First, having a clear vision is key. What's your idea, how will it impact people, how will YOU promote the book? Those questions and the answers to them will help you as you navigate whether to publish yourself or find a traditional publisher for your work. A traditional publisher is going to want to know how they will recoup their investment in putting out your book. So knowing what you have to say and why, and to whom, and how often, and how you will help to market and sell copies of your book is essential for them. Without it, the entire enterprise can seem like a random gamble, and while there are no sure bets, its important for the publisher to have a sense of risk
Next, and this one is a no-brainer:
Join me as I am joined by a crew of other authors to talk about traditional vs self-publishing.
Come check out this online seminar on Monday the 28th of October at 5:30PM PST brought to you by the National Speakers Assocation Northwest chapter.
Publishing books is a no-brainer for most speakers. A book can solidify your reputation, get you interviewed in media and on podcasts, generate revenues from book sales, and keep your message in front of customers and audience members in a very tangible way.
But how should you do it? Sell your book to a traditional publisher or finance it yourself with a hybrid publisher? And once your book comes out, how can you make sure it's a success?
Four speaker/authors who've recently launched books will discuss the pros and cons of traditional or self-funded publishing, and share their tips for making your next book into a big deal.
